- Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications to be accepted into the University of Canada West and have been
- offered an invitation to pursue studies there.
The award level and amount will be determined by the quality and credibility of your Personal Statement.
- After receiving their grant, scholarship, or award, recipients must act as ambassadors of UCW and participate in alumni outreach and engagement initiatives in their home regions.
- When applying to UCW, complete a Scholarship & Award Application form.
- Your personal statement should explain how the program you select will impact your career as well as educational and personal objectives, how you plan to contribute towards economic development in your nation or region and any challenges that will be presented along the way.
- Applications for awards must be received a minimum of 30 days before the start date of an applicant’s program.
- Awards must be submitted in full to meet this deadline; awards cannot be evaluated until after admission has been granted.
- Award applications cannot be reviewed until all necessary documents have been received.
- In certain circumstances, the Registrar’s Office may request additional documentation before making a final determination regarding an award.

University of Canada West Entrance Awards:
University Canada West offers entrance awards to all students accepted into its graduate or undergraduate programs.
- You will only be awarded one (1) entry award (limited exceptions apply, see below for further information).
- If you qualify for multiple awards, the award with the highest amount will be granted automatically.
- Students enrolled in Online Programs are not eligible to receive these awards.
- Those offered conditions cannot receive any funds until after meeting all requirements for full (i.e. unconditional) admission has been granted.
- Award recipients are expected to act as ambassadors for UCW and be actively engaged in alumni outreach and engagement efforts.
- All awards are credited as tuition credits.
- New Student Orientation (NSO), ENGL 080, or any repeated course attempts are not eligible courses for disbursal payment (even if taken during the disbursement period).
